Forklift Operator Certificate Course & F Endorsement Course

Gain knowledge and skills to safely use a Powered Industrial Lift Truck (Forklift).

Our courses are designed to improve operator skills, knowledge and safety awareness. Our forklift trainers are registered with “Competenz” as Certified Forklift Trainers who monitor on behalf of WorkSafe NZ

A trained forklift operator is the key behind ensuring the most effective and safe use of forklifts in the workplace. Being a trained and certified forklift operator requires a Forklift Operators Certificate as a minimum and if driving on a road, an F endorsement on your driving licence.

For new operators, we recommend that you complete both the Forklift Operator Course and the F Endorsement Course to cover both health and safety and driver licencing obligations.

The Forklift Operators Certificate Course & F Endorsement Course can be completed on the same day.

Forklift Operator Certificate Course

The Forklift Operator Certificate Course allows you to operate a forklift in a workplace and is valid for three (3) years. To maintain (renew) your certification, you should attend a Forklift Operator Course at least every three (3) years.

Forklift Operator Certificate Course (new and renewals) covers the core theory and basic driving competence that is required to operate a forklift.

What happens next?

After successful completion of the Forklift Operator Course, you will be issued with a Forklift Operator E-Certificate which will be emailed to you.

You are now certified to operate a forklift.

F Endorsement Course

The F Endorsement Course is required if you drive a forklift on the road. Pre-requisite: You must hold a minimum of a full NZ Class 1 driving licence to attain this endorsement.

You will need to apply for an F endorsement on your driver’s licence if you will be operating a forklift on a road.

There may be some instances where a warehouse environment is classed as a road, if the public can gain access.
See FAQ’s for NZTA’s definition of a road.

What happens next?

After successful completion of the NZTA F Endorsement course, you will be issued with an NZTA Certificate for the F Endorsement. You must take it to your local driver licncing agent (AA or VTNZ) and apply to have it added to your driving licence.

You are now licenced to drive a forklift on a road. (see FAQs) and after approximately 10 days you will receive your new photo licence in the mail.
